You may have noticed that there is now a security step called two-step verification when logging into the MyChart portal. This will help protect your MyChart account. After logging in, you can turn off this added security feature by navigating to Security Settings and clicking “Turn off two-step verification.”

Teens ages 13–17 can take charge of their care by creating their own MyChart accounts. A MyChart account lets you send messages to your health care provider, request and renew prescriptions, see test results, schedule appointments and so much more. Parents and guardians can request proxy access to a teen account, but some information will remain confidential and will not be shared without the teen’s permission.   

Depending on state regulations, patients can participate in a live-video appointment with a Johns Hopkins Medicine provider. Video visits are secure and HIPAA compliant. Professional language and sign language interpreters can join video visits.

Use MyChart to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination or booster at a Johns Hopkins Medicine Maryland location. Appointments are limited.

Complete questionnaires in MyChart to share your pronouns, legal sex and legal name with your Johns Hopkins care team.

The Johns Hopkins MyChart mobile app is getting a new login page. Patients will see important announcements in a pop-up banner as well as quick links at the bottom of the screen to pages like Provider Finder and Pay Bills.

Use MyChart to schedule some care appointments.

1. Select Visits from the top menu.
2. Click the green Schedule an appointment button.
3. Under Tell us why you’re coming in, click on Adult/Pediatric Specialty Care.
4. Answer the questions and follow the prompts.
5. Select an available date and time.
6. Click Submit to secure your appointment.

Check in to your appointment before you arrive.

1. Select Visits from the top menu.
2. Click eCheck-in.
3. Confirm your insurance, medical history and preferred pharmacy.

Use MyChart to tell your provider when you have arrived for some appointments.

1. A box titled Confirm that you’ve arrived will appear 30 minutes before an appointment.
2. Click I’m here and proceed to the front desk to sign any outstanding paperwork.

Patients and proxies can request and download health records in MyChart.

1. Open the menu and search/select Sharing Hub.
2. Choose Yourself.
3. Choose Request a copy.
4. Fill out the Request Copy of Health Record form for whichever site records you wish to download. 
5. Once the request is processed, you will receive a notification that the file is ready in the Document Center. Depending on the size and type of request, this could take several business days.

Access your test results and provider’s clinic notes as soon as they are finalized.

1. Click on Menu and locate My Record.
2. Select Test Results.
3. Select Visits. Click View Notes under a specific visit.

Have a question about your medication or a new symptom? Send a secure, private message to your provider.

1. Click Messages from the top navigation bar.
2. Click the green Send a message button.
3. Select the reason for your message.
4. Select a provider to message.
5. Draft your message, attach any photos and click Send.

Use MyChart to review and pay your medical bills.

1. Use the search bar to locate Billing.
2. Select Billing Summary.
3. Follow the prompts to review and pay your bill.
