May 6 marks the beginning of Nurse's Week.  Let’s join together to recognize the talents and commitments of our dedicated nurses.  Check out events at your local workplace. Kick off the celebrations a day early with a screening and Q&A of Gratitude Revealed at locations across Johns Hopkins.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Throughout the month Johns Hopkins Employee Assistance Program (JHEAP) is offering complimentary webinars centered on mental health. Explore the offerings and resources available to the Johns Hopkins Medicine community.

The spring Race the Globe steps challenge kicks off on May 1 and runs through the 27th. Increase the “we” in “well-being” by taking part. Registration is open after Monday, April 10. 

Music for a While brings the healing power of music and dance to the hospital environment. The Peabody Institute and Johns Hopkins Medicine together have created site-specific programs in high-stress contexts, providing arts experiences to help reduce anxiety, alleviate pain, promote wellness, and improve patient and staff experiences. Now through May 12th experience live music performances by Peabody Institute musicians at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary groups of employees, typically aligned with underrepresented identities, and allies who come together around common purpose, interests and/or background. They are open to all employees. You can join JHM and entity-level ERGs. These groups help foster an inclusive workplace, offer volunteer opportunities and plan cultural, educational and outreach activities throughout the year.

Thank you to clinicians across JHM for participating in the Interprofessional Well-Being Survey. Your responses will help us understand the factors that influence well-being at work and will inform JHM well-being priorities. Look out for an update regarding the results in the coming months.
