Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition

US News & World Report: Best Children's Hospitals 2022-23

As one of the top programs in the country, the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center is dedicated to providing the highest quality medical care and state-of-the-art techniques in the evaluation and treatment of gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional disorders.

Our internationally recognized expert pediatric gastroenterologists and hepatologists work together with certified nurse practitioners, nurses and dietitians to help children with a variety of gastrointestinal symptoms including chronic abdominal pain, reflux, constipation, vomiting and nausea.

Our Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center is the largest such center in Maryland. We have nationally recognized experts in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons with expertise in laparoscopic surgeries, dieticians with added expertise in IBD, and behavioral psychologists knowledgeable in children’s psychosocial issues to help patients and families manage the condition.

Our Pediatric Liver Center is Maryland’s oldest and largest center performing pediatric liver transplants. As the only center offering living-donor liver transplants in the state, we’ve performed surgeries on children as young as 4 months old. Our pediatric liver transplant team, the largest in Maryland, has performed transplants for nearly every indication, including acute and chronic conditions.

We provide care at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center as well as several other locations.
